Spring Street Fair Returns to Coast Highway

After pandemic delays, the beloved street fair is back with 450 vendors, bike valets, and a family-friendly beer garden.

ENCINITAS — For the first time since 2019, the smells of grilling tri-tip and the sounds of live music filled Highway 101 this weekend. The Encinitas Spring Street Fair is back.

The hiatus, forced by the global pandemic, only seemed to make the reunion sweeter. Crowds were thick from D Street to J Street, navigating the booths of 450 vendors. Local artisans reported record sales as residents seemed eager to support small businesses.

Local artisans described a sense of relief, saying it felt like they could breathe again. Online sales had kept them afloat during the pandemic, but nothing, they said, replaces seeing someone smile when they try on a piece of handmade jewelry.

The fair also featured an expanded "Kids Zone" with new rides and a larger stage for youth bands. The Electra Bike Valet service parked over 1,200 bicycles on Saturday alone, highlighting the community's commitment to active transportation.

Welcome back, Street Fair. We missed you.
