ENCINITAS — If you were looking for a quiet weekend downtown, you were out of luck. But if you were looking for hand-crafted jewelry, live reggae, and the smell of kettle corn wafting off the ocean breeze, the 39th Annual Encinitas Spring Street Fair was the place to be.
Under pristine blue skies, tens of thousands of locals and visitors packed South Coast Highway 101 for the two-day event, reaffirming its status as one of North County's premier street festivals. Organized by the Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association, the fair spanned six blocks from D Street to J Street, turning the heart of the city into an open-air pedestrian plaza.
The **Beer Garden**, a perennial favorite, featured pours from local heavyweights like Modern Times and Culture Brewing Co. Regulars described it as the community's living room — a place where you run into neighbors you haven't seen in months, capturing what Encinitas is all about.
Music and Makers
Three stages provided a non-stop soundtrack. The Lumberyard Courtyard Stage hosted acoustic acts, while the Main Stage near the beer garden kept the energy high with local rock bands. This year also saw a record number of vendors—over 450—showcasing everything from upcycled surfboard art to organic skincare.
New for 2024 was the "Eco-Zone," highlighting sustainability initiatives. The Encinitas Environmental Commission offered tutorials on composting and rainwater harvesting, drawing steady crowds interested in greener living.
