INDIO — The boots were dusty, the temperatures were high, and the energy was undeniable. Stagecoach 2024 wrapped up Sunday night in the Coachella Valley with a headlining set from arguably the biggest name in music today: Morgan Wallen.
Following standout performances earlier in the weekend from Eric Church and Miranda Lambert, Wallen took the "Mane Stage" to a roar that could likely be heard back in Encinitas. Launching into "Up Down" and "The Way I Talk," the Tennessee native commanded the massive crowd with the ease of a veteran.
But the festival was about more than just the closers. Saturday night saw a surprise appearance by Post Malone, who joined the set for a medley of country covers that set social media ablaze. It was a perfect "Stagecoach moment"—unexpected, fun, and bridging genres.
Longtime attendees from Encinitas described the festival's appeal as being all about the vibe — everyone is just happy to be there, they said, and it feels like a massive reunion for everyone from Southern California.
As the final fireworks faded over the desert, fans began the long drive home on the I-10, already speculating about who might top the bill for the festival's 17th year in 2025.
