RENO, Nev. — The San Diego State women's basketball team hit the 20-win milestone for the fourth straight season with a commanding 78-64 road victory over Nevada on Saturday, improving to 20-4 overall and 14-1 in Mountain West Conference play.
Five Aztecs scored in double figures in the blowout, which saw SDSU lead by as many as 37 points in the third quarter before head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson pulled her starters. Nevada outscored the Aztecs' reserves 29-9 in the fourth quarter to trim the final margin.
Balanced Scoring Attack
Kennedy Lee and Maria Konstantinidou each scored 12 points to lead the Aztecs. Konstantinidou was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, tying a season high for efficiency. Naomi Panganiban, Kaelyn Hamilton, and Nala Williams each contributed 10 points. Williams surpassed 1,700 career points and 600 career rebounds in the contest, cementing her status as one of the most accomplished players in program history.
Bailey Barnhard added nine points and a career-high four assists, helping orchestrate an offense that shot efficiently throughout the first three quarters.
Clinching a Bye
The victory clinched a first-round bye in the Mountain West Conference Tournament for SDSU, which holds a two-game lead over second-place UNLV (17-8, 12-3 MW) in the conference standings. The Aztecs are 8-1 on the road this season, tying a program record for road victories.
Terry-Hutson now sits one win away from 200 career victories. The team is averaging 70.2 points per game, the highest offensive output since the 1993-94 season, while committing just 12.8 turnovers per game, which ranks 18th nationally.
Wednesday Night Showdown
SDSU hosts UNLV on Wednesday night at Viejas Arena in a battle for first place that could effectively decide the regular season championship. The Aztecs won the first meeting between the two teams 75-66 in overtime in Las Vegas on January 17. A win Wednesday would clinch first place and complete the season sweep of the Lady Rebels.
This is SDSU's final season in the Mountain West before the program moves to the Pac-12 on July 1, 2026.
